Monday, Sept. 21 at 7 pm

The Schuylkill Choral Society holds auditions in early September and early January.  The auditions are not meant to be nerve-wracking!  Our director and assistant director will have you sing a short song, check your range, ask you a bit about your general music knowledge and singing experience (if any).  They will then determine in which section you will fit best.

Drop by and check in at the sign in table and the membership committee will help you out.  Just be yourself and show them what you can do!

Rehearsal Attendance

Rehearsals with piano are held every Monday evening, 7:30-9:30 pm at First United Church of Christ, 110 Route 61 S Schuylkill Haven.

Dress rehearsals are held at the site of the upcoming concerts- normally on the Thursday evening before the concert and are mandatory. Performance dress not required.  Approximate times are normally 7:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m.

Members are expected to attend all rehearsals and performances. Concert schedules are planned in advance of each season.

If an applicant is not available and unable to commit to the rehearsal and performance schedule, a special waiver may be requested at the time of the audition. Approval will be at the sole discretion of the Music Director.

Members are expected to commit to the rehearsal and performance schedule as indicated at the time of your audition.  If a member must miss any rehearsals or performances for which they had previously indicated availability, they are requested to notify the Section Leader as soon as possible. Based on such unanticipated absences, the Music Director reserves the right to ask a member to step down from a given concert, or to withdraw for the remainder of the season. Those who miss 2 or more rehearsals for a particular concert will be asked to test their knowledge of the music with the Assistant Director should they still wish to perform in that concert.

The Music Director reserves the right to revoke membership for any chorister at any time based on repeated attendance failures, musical reasons, or any other considerations.   Members may request a leave of absence during the season for any reason, at any time. Approval will be at the discretion of the Music Director, and if granted, will not change your status as a member.
